A pair of local advocates are seeking donations for a community-wide rummage and bake sale this Spring.

The sale will be held Saturday, April 9, 8am-8pm at McKinley School, 820 N. 31st St., in Billings.

Volunteers are requesting donations of quality items that are clean and in good working order. “This is the perfect event for those folks who don’t want to go through the hassle of a garage sale, but who have nice items worth passing on to someone else,” said event co-organizer Pat Lowthian.

All donations can be brought directly to McKinley School between 8am and 4pm Monday through Friday from now until April 8. Please wait to bring all large items and/or baked goods until Friday, April 8 by 4pm.

The sale is organized by Lowthian and Mary Fitzgerald. The duo is seeking to raise funds for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Billings chapter. NAMI is a grass-roots organization that provides advocacy and support for persons living with a mental illness and their family members through a variety of no-cost programs. Fitzgerald and Lowthian hope to make the rummage/bake sale an annual event.
